The Newest and Most Advanced Skin Resurfacing Laser: LaseMD

LaseMD, Advance SkinCare

The beauty industry has used laser treatments for decades to rejuvenate skin surfaces. Though laser treatments are highly effective in correcting skin concerns—much faster than your average face moisturizer and wash—they have been grossly misunderstood. They have a bad reputation because their main drawback is a lengthy, painful recovery time.

Introducing the LaseMD- a proven, advanced, effective, gentle, minimal downtime skin resurfacing laser.

What is LaseMD?

LaseMD is an FDA-approved and considered an advanced skincare and dermatology procedure by Lutronic. It is an advanced fractional non-ablative laser that employs gentle columns of heat to stimulate the body’s natural ability to produce elastin and collagen.

This, in turn, improves the skin’s quality and overall health at the cellular level.

It features a 1927 nm thulium wavelength to treat any pigmentation because it is highly absorbent by water in the skin. Other 1927-nm lasers available in the market are Clear+ Brilliant Permea, Moxi, and Fraxel Dual 1927, but LaseMD has the highest power among these.

This treatment ranges from mild to aggressive and is fast becoming popular with patients who desire immediate results with minimal recovery time. LaseMD can be used on the neck, face, or chest either as a long-term regimen for skin care or as a beauty boost two weeks before a big event, for instance, a wedding. Patients love it for its quick results.

How LaseMD Works

This gentle and effective laser process employs the use of patented fractional technology, where it forms microscopic laser columns that deeply penetrate the skin. The laser treats a small fraction of tissue at a time and in a pixelated pattern without touching the surrounding tissue so as to boost rapid healing.

The controlled laser damage stimulates the body’s natural healing process to replace old, damaged skin with rejuvenated, fresh, and healthy skin. Immediately following the procedure, the skin becomes a sponge for the serums that contain nano-peptides, growth factors, vitamins, pigment reducers, and/or antioxidants.

Results are both progressive and immediate. Individual results are hard to predict and may vary. However, it is highly recommended to have a series of laser treatments for more optimal results and maintenance.

Candidates for LaseMD Treatment

Most people are good candidates for the LaseMD treatment. This is because it is beneficial for every skin type and age. LaseMD meets every skin concern because it is a highly customized laser resurfacing treatment. It has the perfect intensity for any skin concern, providing everything from mild skin resurfacing to an approach that is more aggressive.

What to Expect During the LaseMD Treatment

The dermatologist will apply an anesthetic cream 30 to 45 minutes before the treatment. After this, you may feel a tingling sensation and warmth as the handpiece moves over your skin. Often, the LaseMD procedure requires more than one layered pass over the skin surface. The more it passes over the skin, the more it tingles and feels warm.

The treatment will take about twenty minutes, at which point the heat will increase. This is the natural response of the body to the trauma that was initially delayed by the numbing cream.

LaseMD Recovery

For the next twenty-four hours, expect a mild heat sensation, redness, or minimal swelling that will typically last for 1 to 2 days. For the next two to seven days following the treatment, the darkening of brown and red spots and a light tan are normal. The skin may also have a sudden sandpaper texture and feel dry. After a week, though, the skin will feel smooth.

Blistering may occur, but it is rare. If you do get blisters, consult with your doctor right away. However, expect visible results after one to two weeks following the treatment. Consecutive treatments can be done after one month of two to four sessions at four-week intervals for optimal results.

LaseMD Recommendations

  • If you are still experiencing some warmth hours after the procedure, apply an ice pack to the area.
  • Avoid scrubbing and picking at the skin before and after the procedure.
  • Gently pat dry after washing your face instead of rubbing or scrubbing it dry.
  • Avoid electrolysis, facials, extensive sun exposure, threading, or any other laser procedure up to one week before the procedure.
  • Avoid sunburn or tanning two weeks before the procedure and four weeks after treatment.
  • Avoid using cosmetics containing AHA, retinol, and alcohol for up to one week after treatment.
  • Stop applying topicals—except sunscreen, a gentle cleanser, or a plain moisturizer—two days before the procedure.
